That summer as the weeks went on I had more and more questions. I read them, disagreed with them and discarded them. All of these 60’s remaking of reality just kind of washed over me. The Feminine Mystique, Situation Ethics and various readings from the Theatre of the Absurd had been part of my coursework. It was a tumultuous year of national riots. Summer of 1970 was the summer after my freshman year in college. I wasn’t sure what it was-it was kind of an elusive feeling-but I knew whatever it took to be close to God, I just didn’t have it. There was something missing despite all of my religious activity and sincerity. I thought I was a Christian, but as I became older I found myself longing to know God better. I grew up going to church Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday night. Sometimes people believe if you are basically kind and try to do the right thing you are going to go to heaven. Many people think if you attend church you are a Christian. I pray you, too, will believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that believing you may have life in His name! Start at the beginning of John’s Gospel or at the beginning of Paul’s letter to the Romans. If you’re not a believer in Jesus, I invite you to read through my story, and more importantly turn to the Bible and read about Jesus. My husband became a Christian while reading through chapter 20 of the Gospel of John. I became a Christian while reading Paul’s words in chapter 5 of his letter to the church at Rome. This is my personal witness about Jesus Christ for you! On this page are my posts about how I became a Christian. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.A witness is someone who gives testimony of personal knowledge. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. " Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. " And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." ( Daniel 12:2) You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead." ( Isaiah 26:19) "Your dead shall live their bodies shall rise. Below are the Bible verses and Scriptures that both prophesize the resurrection of Jesus and testify of the reality of the resurrected body of Christ. The Old and the New Testaments speak of the truth of Jesus being raised from death - Jesus testified of his resurrection before He died on the cross and his disciples witnessed his body after the resurrection. As the women left to tell the disciples, Jesus Christ met them and showed them his nail-pierced hands. Sitting on the rolled-away stone was an angel of the Lord who told them not to be afraid because Jesus had risen. On the third day, an early Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene and another Mary came to the tomb and found it empty. After his death, Jesus’ body was wrapped in linen cloth and placed in a tomb with a large stone rolled across the opening. His body was hung on a cross between two thieves. Jesus was arrested, tried, and found guilty of claiming to be a king.
